Reality show guilty excess.

There should be a word for it. You fall for a reality show that's been around for a while. And there are many old seasons available on DVD. So you keep watching the current season, but you start tapping into old seasons on DVD. You can watch the show every night and every week. The supply is amazing. Oh, my friends: that's me and "Survivor." I don't really watch that much TV. Really, it's only an hour a night. But, I confess, it is "Survivor."

My wife digs "Survivor." I can't tell the damn shows apart. Can't watch it.

Hey -- can you get "Joe Millionaire" on DVD? Quality, quality TV.

I have watched every single episode of every single season so far....I know, it was kinda tough given I have a full-time job, a toddler, four dogs and a husband, but I did it:)

After Palau, which was possibly one of the most satisfying endings ever, this season has really gripped me. Go Yul!

Spoiler alert: Rob and Amber get married.

Isn't that a great way to watch a series? You don't have to wait a week or more for the next installment. I've watched all the HBO series' this way because we don't subscribe to HBO but really enjoy the fare.

Palau is the only season I've seen, but man, it was actually pretty cool. I hadn't thought much of watching reality tv before that.

"Hello, my name is Ann Althouse and I'm a Survivor addict."

"Hello, Ann."

Me, too. Funny how they draw you in, and how quickly, too. I'm sworn not to get involved with The Apprentice again - nothing but a bunch of resume-padding yahoos each trying to outdo the others (Oh, I'm am SO there!). But, besides Survivor, I got hooked on American Idol, Hell's Kitchen, Dancing With the Stars, The Bachelor, Top Chef, and The Amazing Race.

I giving control of my life to my higher power.

I have enjoyed the show and I have limited TV watching time (TiVo helps). I have watched it enough to be efficient, because I know what to look for and what to ignore. So I can get what I need in about 25 minutes.

Professor Althouse, have you written much about this season of "Top Chef?" Are you watching it at all? I know you watched quite a bit of the first season.

I've been watching faithfully this season. I find the participants more annoying than interesting this time around. However, it should be fun on this week's episode when Steven from Season 1 shows up.

Stever: I don't have TiVo, but On Demand works just as well. They're pretty good at making the latest episodes available quickly.

Matt, yeah, I watch, but I just haven't felt like writing about it. I'm enjoying "Survivor" much more.
