Austin protest #2: "Hey hey ho ho, Roe v. Wade has got to go."

Same afternoon. Austin, Texas. A big, organized pro-life march heads north on Congress Avenue toward the Texas Capitol.

ADDED: I wasn't standing around waiting for this march. I just happened upon this corner and had my little camera in my hand. I couldn't edit this clip, so this is just what I caught. It's just by chance that someone drops the American flag right in the beginning, something I didn't see until I uploaded the clip.

Hey Hey, Ho, HO...

Were they trying to solicit prostitutes?

I have actually heard there are better ways to prevent conception, fertilization, and implantation. And I am talking beyond crossing your legs. Either way that knowledge is lost in some religion/culture, and it is kinda late to learn this stuff when you are old and menopausal. Of course knowing such, I wouldn't want to lose my religion on just anybody reading this blog.

Girls and boys your ancient roots are calling for a better explanation of processes and understanding in justice, or a repealing with consequences. Your choice, you are the youth. You are the future, good and bad.

I hate that "The Children Are Our Future" bullshit. Why can't slutty ho's with big knockers be our future? Hah. Answer me that.

Your fortune:
I see luscious, voluptuous, curvaceous, sensuous fille de joie in the future.

sounds better w/out children, huh? answer me that.

It's too cold in the north for the usual protesters to be standing in front of the courthouse. Up here in this tiny village of the Catskills the pro-war people are on one side, the anti-war people on the other, and they are sometimes members of the same family.

It's something to do, I guess. But it's pretty cold up here right now, so everybody's inside. It's amazing to see people in t-shirts and shorts.

Hey, wait! What's that "whisper" at 0:38? A ghostly prompt, a la the recent Republican debate?

And what's all that murmuring, intermittently between roughly 1:10 and 1:30?
; )

Uh oh. I'm sensing a visit to the Spider House coming up. ---The obligatory Salt Lick is on the agenda.

But not Vespaio, Cafe Mundi, or Ciba, thankfully.

They're running out of restaurants for Althouse and her retinue.

I won't bother suggesting anyone do any home cooking. Ain't gonna happen.

If you can't vote on it, your majority is determined by coverage, which brings in audience considerations.

With a vote, everybody just votes, and that's that.

I'm just not a marching sort. I'm more of a argue on the internet sort.

That seemed like a fairly impressive march though... size wise. These days it seems like most protests are a few dozen people.

Hey walter neff

I went and you must have missed the joyful fillet at steak 'n' shake with the cherry on top. Better luck and a frisco melt to you next time.

I hate that chanting and it always makes me think of lefty marches:

Hey Hey LBJ
How many kids didja kill today?

Ho ho ho chi minh

etc.

So the extremes come to resemble each other.

I'm not much of one for carrying signs and marching to protest. It seems mostly a pointless endeavor. Who would walk down the street, stop to watch a parade walke by, and suddenly change his mind about abortion/the war/race relations/homosexuality?

Austin, TX has the largest urban bat population in the world. It's interesting to go down to the bridge where they hang out and watch them take off at dusk. They don't chant.

Hey nansealinks I am sorry. I was at the Doll House on Murray St. Nadia this russian bitch with huge knockers said hello

okay, I found a pair of big black boots to do my street walking which is very imporatant. And as I always say...

you know what they say about girls with big feet >10

we can't find a reasonably priced pair of shoes. But I did as my old black boots were three winters old and quite worn.

Is it fair to say there were way more pro-lifers in Austin than anti-war folks in Madison a year ago?

walter neff said...

Those boots had to be so worn because you were knockin' them so much.

what is the reason of protest? Protesting about Zoot Suit issue
