"The Villains do not have a leader. Russell is not a leader..."

"Boston Rob was a leader. He led his tribe. But Boston Rob is gone.... Sandra... Russell’s Achilles heel. It’s not that he’s 'stupid'... It’s his ego. Pure ego. In this case, it’s that he can’t stand thinking Coach is having second thoughts about him. Nobody has second thoughts about Russell Hantz. 'I’m Russell Hantz!' With Parvati, it’s his ego that is leading him to believe she really likes him. She doesn’t. Parvati doesn’t like anybody. We all know that. We’ve watched her play this game three times now. She’s a flirt. A very good flirt. A million-dollar flirt. But she doesn’t like you, Russell."

Probst opines.

I sat next to a guy on the Washington DC Metra last week train who said this exact same thing.

I suspected he had been off of his anti-psychotics for awhile.

Little did I know...

I'm trying to remember who voted for whom last night. Can anybody post it or provide a link?

I would just like someone to feed Courtney.

That's an interesting paragraph but I find Probst's advice to future players more useful.

If you find yourself on a tribe with a really great leader or a really great strategist or a really great food provider, or someone who dominates at challenges — think before you vote them out. Probst elaborates. My impulse would be to get rid of the stiffest competition first. Which explains why I'm a lousy strategist.

I enjoyed Russell's devilish devotion to the art of the game last season but, this time around, he just seems mean and foolish. Parvati is making him look ridiculous. He is letting letting the wrong head influence his thinking.

Original Mike - the votes came down as expected, with one exception.

Coach and Jerri voted for Courtney, and the rest of the women voted for Coach. Russell, however, voted for Courtney and signed his vote making it clear to Coach, who is now the first member of the jury, that he, Russell was really on Coach's side (but only after he knew that a majority existed to get rid of Coach. I guess that shows that Russell is getting somewhat smarter about playing to the jury rather than ticking everyone off needlessly.

Probst is so right about the lack of leadership. And it was fun watching Sandra finally make a nice little underhanded move.

Thanks Julie C. Wasn't sure that my memory was correct that Russell voted for Courtney. You think he did that only after making sure Coach was gone? That would be well played. And I'm surprised they allow you to sign your vote.

I was surprised Danielle voted for Coach after she was so impassioned about voting for Courtney. Why did she do that?

Me too. I'm thinking that Parvati got to her, explained that she has Russell under her thumb and has him set up for a blindside.

Russell fails to understand the need to dump physically weak players such as Courtney and Sandra. Sandra won Survivor playing a very similar strategy and didn't Courtney make the final Tribal Council?

Last season, he lost to one of his flunkies. This season he will be voted out by people like Courtney and Sandra (and Parvati and Danielle), especially with the merge coming very soon.

Of course, Boston Rob should have just agreed to dump Courtney last week instead of gunning for Russell...which has set up the Villains for failure....

Survivor is like an ongoing experiment about the conditions under which sociopaths thrive.
