The sunset, a few minutes ago.

Seen from Picnic Point. It was really pretty, complete with Corgi. See the Corgi?

See?

Just a stranger's dogs. Not ours. We're dogless and get our dog-love where we can find it. A Corgi tonight. Perhaps poodles tomorrow.

It was quite beautiful. It was the first evening I saw fireflies. Fireflies, a runner in the dark, and...

... from over the lake, lights and crowd-squeals from a semi-final game of the 35th Annual Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association Softball State Championships.

Yes, a mosquito bit me. But only one. There's nothing closer to perfection.

Corgis are my favorite dog, appearance-wise. Odd but cute.

The Corgi was so friendly. Just a doll.

Our neighbors have a Corgi. She's really a sweet delight.

We have a lot of fireflies in our backyard right now! Turn off all the lights and stand there to watch them.

BTW, I have orange roses too (fragrant! ) but they just finished the first round and am waiting for it to grow new shoots. June is a pretty drab month, except for hydrangeas and I don't care for them too much.

Love lightning bugs. We've had them here for about a month. Another one of those things that take me back.

The mosquito will be marketing Althouse DNA on EBay

Meade, so do I.

Irene, if the the carpet was just slightly closer in color they could lay down and you'd lose them.

Nice looking dogs. :-)

Synova,ha ha! They blend with the decor. Several guests have so noticed.

Thank you. They are sharp and fun. They're half-brothers.

Weird! The red dog in the foreground, the one ducking down to look at something behind the driftwood, looks exactly like my dog (the mixed breed, not the weenie dog). I mean exactly, down to the tail and the ridge along the back. The color is right, too. I can't see its head, but I speculate that it is shepherd-like. Mine looks kind of dingo-ish, with big ears. We call him Anubis for fun.

I love a good red dog.

I doubt this works well for viewing, but I changed my profile picture to one of my red doggie.

How promiscuous!!

I've been surprised at the dearth of mosquitoes in my yard. Maybe I'm jinxing things by writing this. It's been pretty wet, yet not a lot of mosquitoes.

That looks just like our Corgi! They are sweet dogs (odd, but sweet), and very, very friendly....
