Those legislators in exile...

... where are they staying?

P1060714

Are they shacking up with Chicago friends? At what point do they stop looking Wisconsin enough? I see Nancy Pelosi is "very proud of what they're doing." I'm sure that will resonate with the people of Wisconsin who are watching and wondering what side to take.

Here's a blog — The "Badger 14": Escape From Wisconsin — exploring (with some legal sophistication) the idea of impeaching the absent legislators.

It's only natural that Pelosi and the Democrats cheer the undermining of democracy. Democrats, putting the "mock" in democracy.

Haven't followed the links yet (I will), but I did just see a report that recall efforts are underway or imminently underway for two of the legislators. Don't know any of the history of how well that sort of thIng plays out in WI.

Shacking up? Can you imagine a romantic getaway with Pelosi Galore?

And, yes, if a couple are impeached, the Republicans would then constitute a quorum.

"Republic, I like the sound of that word - and I like the sound of impeach almost as much"

Illinois, being a sanctuary state, will embrace the 14 illegal aliens who have crossed our borders.

When they leave- voluntarily or by force- to face the wrath of tyranny and dictatorship in Wisconsin, the warm hearts and small minds of Illinois liberals will go with them.

Too bad the small minded big hearted liberals will not go back with them.

Could an impeachment practically proceed if the majority of the constituents in a Senator's district approved of what the Senator was doing?

I'm not that familiar with the swearing-in statement that Senators make. I wonder exactly how explicit it is in what they swear to do. It was probably written by a lawyer and is full of weasel words.

I'd go further.

Impeach them, and then bill them the cost of impeachment.

Sue them for the costs, if that's what it takes.

Why impeach them ... they've already resigned? They're not showing up to vote and that's their job.

They are not showing up to vote so as to prevent votes from occurring. They are anarchists.

Jail them for tyranny.

Scott Walker should deputize every single Wisconsin resident to arrest these people wherever they are in America and return them to face justice.

If they are Chicago hookers are very happy.

why can't the GOP just strip out the union busting portion of the fiscal repair bill, and vote on the collective bargaining portion separately? Wouldn't that get around the quorum rule for fiscal bills?
