"What The Sun Really Does To Your Face."

Check out the Unilateral Dermatoheliosis — caused by driving a truck for 28 years, with the sun always hitting one side of the face.

We just need to change what we find attractive. Imagine if you could - if you could simply switch on an intense attraction for whatever is in good supply, rather than the opposite which seems to happen automatically.

He could do an ad for anti-aging cream. Claim to have put it in the smooth side of his face.

I don't know. It seems to me that people's faces seem to age much slower than the rest of them that rarely sees any sun. And if this difference was normal, wouldn't everyone in southern states look 20 years older than northerners? I don't see that at all. I think something else is going on with this guy. Wouldn't a lot of us have this condition, and most truck drivers?

When I visit AZ and meet with folks I know to be in my age cohort (+/- 2 years) I am always shocked by how weathered they are, dessicated and beaten by the sun. Beyond the help of a moisturizer.

Hell, look at Gov. Jan Brewer - she's only 62!

Right side, man in his 60s
Left side, man in his 70s.

I'd even argue that right side man could be in his 50s.

The man is 69. So, looks like his face is balanced just right for his age.

I guess that's why my mechanic always told me I should rotate my face every few thousand miles.

Talking about Southerners--have you taken a close look at Merle Haggard?

ken He's called Haggard for a reason.
Some eye surgeries can have that effect. There are some kinds of palsy that can cause the drooping we see on his face. That could be in play as well.

Glass is pretty good at blocking UV light, so this only makes sense if he had his window down a lot. In that case, a constant desiccating breeze on one side could also be the culprit. A final thing, I've seen plenty of truck drivers over the years and have yet to see one with a noticeably asymmetrical face. So maybe this guy was especially susceptible to whatever caused this condition.
