Anthony Weiner is pleased with the sheer numerosity of his ideas...

2 books! 125 ideas!

"Look, powerful voices have made it clear from the very beginning, they didn't want me to win. But this isn't about what they want...." This is about what I want.

"Powerful voices".... in his head.
They keep telling him to to do stupid things like tweet his penis.
"Tweet you penis, Anthony! Tweet your penis!", they say.
They don't want him to win.

The powerful voices were in his pants, I do believe.

Anthony can have a much more lucrative career in porn. Indeed he and Spitzer can make a fortune as a dynamic duo in porn hits like "Politicians Gone Wild". Or " Winerspritzer Hoses The Public" . There's a fortune to made here.

A single payer health plan.

Who is this un-named single payer??

I guess it will all boil down to what the voters of New York want. It may not be what he wants, or one of those strange cases in which they don't care. The voters of SC voted their philandering Governor in to the Congress, go figure.

However, New Yorkers are different than those red necks down there, right?

Great. Two books no one bought or read. That's a contribution!

He is a politician,of course, it is all about what he wants. He wants them to believe that he knows what is good for them.

I'd say stick a fork in him, but he'd probably enjoy it, sext it, and then blame Republicans for hacking his account.

A politician can't win elective office with ideas, almost by definition. Anything genuinely new and powerful will not yet have been grasped by the majority, or it would already be the conventional wisdom.

A decent, honest politician gets elected by (1) reassuring voters he understands the conventional wisdom, and can be trusted not to go off the rails, and (2) convincing voters of his character, such that they trust him to critically evaluate any new ideas that come down the pike.

Dishonest politicians appeal to gullible voters, like hucksters selling penis pills and make money at home schemes on late-night TVs, by appealing to their vanity and greed. I have a lot of new brilliant but easily grasped ideas, which only a sneaky shadowy conspiracy opposition has heretofore thwarted. Trust me! Send me your money, vote, tweetpics in scanty panties...!

Pretty much anyone who runs on "ideas" is a sociopathic weasel, and should be avoided. Nobody understands me except you. I and I alone will take good care of you. What's your PIN? Run, run, run, far away from this person.

TV viewers in the NYC metropolitan area have been absolutely smothered by ads from Eliot Spitzer that say essentially the same thing: powerful interests are rejecting him, not Regular Joes like you and me. Blech. The person I most envy in the world is Silda Spitzer. I heard she's getting a divorce from Eliot, which unfortunately none of the rest of us seem to be able to do.

Bad ideas aren't made better by amassing them into a big pile and using them for a political agenda.

125 ideas and the two he features in his add are:

"Restore discipline to our schools"

Really, what could be more controversial?

and

"Single payer health plan for our city"

To be paid for, no doubt, by further taxing the financial industry - and therefore further accelerating their flight to less punitive business climes.

Where they will no doubt support the same policies that caused them to flee New York.

Typical Democrat fantasy. The Weiners are still following the Clinton template. Hilary blamed a vast right wing conspiracy for Bill Clinton's scandal when he had sex with an intern in the oval office. Weiner has fingered powerful voices for hiss scandal, not his own behavior. Unfortunately, Democrats allow their politicians to evade responsibility for their behavior.

Also, I think using the cliché "focusing like a laser beam" should be made illegal.

However, I don't think it should be a death penalty offense, the first time.

Well, particularly since the whole point of a laser beam (of the type imagined here) is that it doesn't need to be focussed.

When we moved to Fort Lauderdale 10 years ago, I was struck by all the "old people" who, we were told, were "fighting" something -- stop that hi-rise on the beach, don't close that shop we love, etc. I concluded that people that once had been powerful in their own part of the world (a job, a family, a little town) needed to regain their sense of power by "fighting" something. I understand that, and that's what the Weiner is trying to latch on to, to support his campaign. He's "fighting" for the powerless voters.

For the sake of my native city, I hope it doesn't work, but it is POSSIBLE that it will.
