Has anyone seen the new HBO series "Getting On"?

I saw the second episode. It's based on a British Show, like "The Office". But it's "The Office" on acid.

The very un-PC, gay bashing, foul-mouthed elderly lady patient was hilarious.

"I could be a fucking dick magnet for all you know."

We are having an ice/sleet/freezing rain/snow storm. It is exciting.

I hope it's not as bad as the one back in -- was it '09? -- Freeman.

Hello winter!

A little lie here, a little lie there. What else is Obama lying about? Or what is the press not telling us that they know about Obama that we lowly folks would just be better off not knowing, because, you know, he's still so awesome! (ala John Edwards!)

Thanks, MM. Yes, it was '09. I think everyone is better prepared this time.

Time to review your passwords.

Lemondog, those 2 million passwords were mine. I can never remember which ones are case sensitive.

Paminwi, the story about Obama's uncle is very interesting. I did not realize that the uncle has been in the US since the 1960's. The immigration judge granted him US residency based on his demonstrated good character and long residence. That was a lawful decision, and it seems a just one to me. The guy has lived here for almost 50 years. Where in the world would he go now?

The uncle testified that President Obama stayed with him for three weeks when he first went off to Harvard. Now that was a very kind thing for the uncle to do.

Once Obama finished Harvard and started to climb the ladder, he ended all contact with the Uncle. I suppose that's not all that unusual, but the man had done a great kindness for Barack. Not only did Obama not return the kindness, he pretended never to have met the uncle.

Conduct is character.

It was kind of the uncle. How did Obama know where this uncle was?

Nelson Mandela, revered statesman and anti-apartheid leader, dies at 95

Imagine the world if Mandela had been someone more fire-brandish.

RIP to someone who truly earned it.

They're announcing that Nelson Mandela has died. How much do you want to bet that whatever Obama says or does regarding it, it will be about Obama?

I am reminded of how much Mandela's words meant to me as I . . .

Greg Mankiw is too polite to say it, but Obama's lying about the impact of the minimum wage.

Interesting:Obama's approvals
Independents with no party leaning: 28%
Blacks: 83%

I cheer Obama's demise, just like I'd cheer Robert Redford's demise if he were elected President primarily for being blonde, blue-eyed, and handsome.

"I am one of the countless millions who drew inspiration from Nelson Mandela's life," Obama continued, citing his own protests against apartheid as one of his first political actions. "I cannot fully imagine my own life without the example set by Nelson Mandela."

Clyde said...

See, that didn't take long, did it? But it was "dog bites man." If Obama hadn't used the words "I," "me" or "my," THAT would have been shocking.
