The Vatican says: "The Pope did not enter into the details of the situation of Mrs. Davis...

"... and his meeting with her should not be considered a form of support of her position in all of its particular and complex aspects."

Is that clear?

So he was about as informed as he is on the details of global warming then.

Wait, the guy is infallible, no?

Does it mean anything that the Vatican didn't release a similar statement concerning Mo Rocco?

Gestures of love for his flock is the script he wants all clerics to follow. That works until the legalisms and guilt get added with the left hand while a antidote sacrament is sold with the right hand as the business model.

If a clerical interest group can spend its life pushing that hoax, than the Glbal Warming hoax is an easy one to push. And the World Wide authority is the prize the Catholics of the Roman Empire keep their eye upon...the good old days before the French Revolution.

Is this pope really so unaware as he seems that people pay attention to what he says and does?

Sort of like Obama and Castro, I guess. Or Hillary Clinton and Al Sharpton.

He should listen to Justin Beiber more.

It's clear, the pope's a politician

It is... What ever people want it to be.

I'm just upset with Catholics, who thought Kim Davis was lying or downplaying the greetings & encouragement. Many mocking her. I'm just depressed, that we treat a woman on death row with so much compassion, and basic spit on Kim.

Again I don't agree with her on several points, as I quoted in the other thread. It's not the courts that I'm bothered with, but our response in social media.

Actually, I'm curious. Does Prof. Althouse's rather rabid support for gay marriage include support for shutting bakeries and photography studios that won't participate in gay marriage ceremonies? Does it include barring businesses from public contracts if their executives oppose gay marriage? Does it include firing people who oppose gay marriage? Does it include law firms refusing to take cases which question gay marriage? She's always very evasive on these issues, which I guess reflects that she may not support the gay rights movement in all its particular and complex aspects. Maybe someday she'll abandon evasive snark and clarify and defend her views on these particular and complex issues.

Like the Charleston parishioners, the Pope even prays for his enemies and certainly doesn't "endorse" them.

Mrs. Davis' enemies wish for her speedy decline and would probably slather her doorknobs with virus to hasten her death.

Did I leave anything out?

Infallible? This pope is inflatable.

Future headline:

PAPA GOES POP.

"Infability" has only been used twice.

This president, or this media-government complex, has just officially subverted the Pope. Pope Francis the Stupid and Pink is now confounding himself in apologies. Maybe he thinks his Church is eternal no matter what he does, like Obama may Think that America and the West will endure no matter what he does. Malefic spite. But now we see who is the stronger. If the Pope had known it would have displeased his master, he would have condemned her MIT Brenner sorge.

See, left, now you can stop Catholic-bashing. They are now a wholly owned subsidiary of Left, Inc.

There is no significance to the vehemence of my insistence that there is no significance to this statement.

I'll repeat that insignificant statement, in case it escaped you how insignificant it is:

There is no significance to the vehemence of my insistence that there is no significance to this statement.

Now please return to not thinking about pink elephants.

Km Davis no more deserved a stretch in jail than that kid with the sinister contraption deserved a trip to the White House. She does, I think, deserve the Pope's limited, modified, extra tentative support.......Kim has been married four times. Even as we pontificate about the morality of her position, the press is investigating her past life with the kind of zeal they use on the Palins and Zimmermans of the earth. There will be other shoes to drop, and they might be heavy.

Wow! That was close. So we're all good again, right?

This may be another wheel turning inside the White House guest list wheel. Just as one should not assume that the Pope is endorsing Kim Davis, whom he actually met, nor should you assume that he endorses gay bishop, etc. The original message having been sent, it's time to pour oil on the waters. It's all rather byzantine, but understandable. The problem is whether any of the children who now control the White House are sophisticated enough to understand it.

He already made a statement saying public officials, being human, had rights. That was in his own words. That was plenty fucking clear.

His thinking need not be restricted to a single county clerk in Kentucky.

This Pope Cult thing is crazy. Do I believe the Lefty Pope Cult wing saying he really is a hateful bigot like all of his predecessors, he deceived us? Do I believe his Catholic Pope Cult wing who believe he was tricked by conservatives wanting to embarrass him, they deceived him? Do I believe the Vatican Pope Cult wing telling me not believe my lying eyes?

Ay Dios Mio

The pope’s meetings with the Sisters of the Poor and Kim Davis seemed like clear and inspiring messages especially meant for faithful American Catholics. However, the Vatican's so-called clarification of the Davis visit hopelessly muddles why he met with her. Sorry to say I woudn’t be surprised if “clarification” about the other visit is coming next.

I see God sent a hurricane up the coast to clean up after the old commie in the funny hat.

What a damn fool! If he could be fooled by Mrs. Davis, he could be fooled by anyone, such as Dear Leader, and Fidel...

Pope Francis was "fooled" a transgendered person and his fiancee!!!

Of course the gay lobby utilized it.

So the Pope tells Davis to "stay strong", then when he feels some heat, he washes his hands of her. How Pontius Pilate of him. Real admirable character on display. Go back to whining about Global Warming... Pontiff, my ass.

JAORE said...

Wow, isn't the Pope GREAT! Anti big corporation, anti-global warming and all kinds of nifty chit.

Hey, but he supports individual religious freedoms. And he met with Kim Davis.

Wait, what? Oh my head I think it will esplode.

Calm down. He says he doesn't mean he supports her actions specifically.

Oh thank goodness. Isn't the Pope GREAT! And I bet he's really not as pro-life as those Faux News guys say.

The Pope threatens to come off as a manipulated fool. He either needs to get out of the secular world of politics or get much better at playing the game.

I'm guessing that today's dismissal of the self-disclosed homosexual priest-professor (he has a partner!) from his curial and academic offices is also going to make some heads explode, as the expression goes.
