"I put no stock in 'portents' and 'vibes,' but I can't help wondering if what's happened already this cycle is just a hint of what's to come."

Tweets Jeff Greenfield, the longtime political analyst and author of 13 books.

I can't remember the last time I laughed so much at something that I found funny precisely because of the seriousness with which it was intended.

If you know the podcast "Topics," by the comedians Michael Showalter and Michael Ian Black, you should understand what I mean when I say that "Topics" is hilarious because of people like Jeff Greenfield.

This is VERY serious business.

So serious that storm clouds gather and forces of darkness amass.

Serious enough for another 'Second Coming' quotation.

Serious enough for 3,000 word 'think pieces' to appear upon the horizon.

VERY serious.

Does Jeff Greenfield have a podcast called "Contradictions"?

The ideological bukake that is modern Progressivism, now on full display over the Brexit.

It takes years of schooling and deep thought to come up with an insight like that: the recent past and present hint at what the future likely holds.

Deeeep.

The modern progressive mindset is a strange ball of contradictions. It possesses a self-image of tolerance and diversity but it engages in strict thought policing and relies on adherence to strict dogma regarding sex, race, ethnicity, etc.

Getting a Leftist to explain this crazy, made-up thing called 'sexual orientation' is a visit to madhouse. Any person -- even a philanderer with multiple wives and many natural children -- must be believed if they say they are homosexual. What's more, they had to have always been homosexual. On the other hand, if a person says he used to be homosexual, but that now he is heterosexual, he cannot be believed, no matter what evidence he produces, or how sincere his claim appears to be.
