Time has passed in the Red Clock Café...

... and the ineffable experience of redness has given way to purpletude:

When the deep purple falls
over sleepy garden walls
and the stars begin to flicker in the sky
thru the mist of a memory
you wander back to me
breathing my name with a sigh.

In the still of the night
once again I hold you tight.
Tho' you're gone your love lives on when moonlight beams
and as long as my heart will beat,
lover, we'll always meet
here in my deep purple dreams."

--Mitchell Parish

(I prefer the instrumental, myself.)

You buy any book on color theory today, and it's just complete poppycock. Everybody comes out of school painting pink, purple and green. The whole damn cartoon industry has pink purple and green on their mind.

Purple embodies the balance of red simulation and blue calm. This dichotomy can cause unrest or uneasiness unless the undertone is clearly defined at which point the purple takes on the characteristics of its undertone.

Heh:

We're not any more liberal than we were 60 years ago. Just certain things are not taboo now that were taboo then. But most things that weren't taboo then are taboo now.

I specifically enjoy the absence of photos, and I seek it out. If the web were mere text, I would be on my element. ;)

I'm only half serious ;)

I remember my grandmother putting a little salt in the cafe con leche.

It works.

It's key to good cocoa, too.

reader_iam said...

I mean, hot cocoa.

Purpletude. Ha ha ha. That's not even a word. You know what's good for curing purpletudiness? Peperonata pizza, that's what.

Julia Child had somebody put butter on the coffe one time.

I've never been able to duplicate it. But she said it works.

Its as if Coffee and Chocolate have culinary rules of their own.

All this purple and no references to his purple majesty, Prince?

You two look like you should be on a panel with Leonard Pinth-Garnell discussing Bad Cinema

reader iam: Yes, of course the instrumental version. But which instrumental version?

From [even pre-] birth (though out of time), I had big band imprinted in me. So I'm partial to Paul Whiteman, for example. But I also like obscure piano performances.

When you get down to it, however, it's mostly about vast love[s] colliding with individual quirk[s].

Right now, for instance, I'm listening to Big Daddy Kane doing an old standard with--at least I think!--a major nod to Barry White.

And big band.

Quirky, though unfortunately not enough (on account of the pedestrian parts). Still, I can enjoy.
