"Mommy, where is your boo-boo?"

The 3-year-old could see that mother was hurting.

Gut-wrenching.

There is simply nothing that compares to the full-self pain a ruined love imparts on the afflicted. A broken leg is just a broken leg and hurts in a very specific way. The cognitive suffering involved in a breakup like this affects your entire being and there's no single place it comes from.

The word on inside golf is that the number of women Tiger disclosed to Elyn was 165. But she then found out about his tryst with an 18 year old daughter of a neighbor, whom Tiger had left off the listing, and that broke her from ever consideration of Tiger being worth rehabing

Heartbreaking, but Elin seems to have a pretty good foundation under her. I trust she's gonna be ok.

Why shouldn't she be? She's rich, white, and blonde...as God intended.

Ann, please put a Tiger Woods tag on this post in order to spare other unsuspecting souls that want to avoid knowing anything about the latest breathless news serial. This one is starting to rank up there with that hideous bennet Ramsey kid. The less I'm exposed to it the happier I am.

Scott - Sure, she's got the material goods (though that ain't no guarantee). I'm hearing it in what she says and what others, who reportedly know her, are saying.

Yeah that $100 million payout should help cushion the fall. Not bad for a former baby sitter.

/disclosure: I'm not defending Tiger nor feeling much sorrow for her either. I yield to no one my cynicism for celebrity marriages. Tiger married her to reinforce his good boy image and she married him for his money.

Look, I understand why these morons get pre-nups but when you're planning for the divorce before the wedding then maybe you should just stay single and play the field. Just sayin.

165? He was counting?? If this is true, then he truly wanted to destroy the relationship.

She asked how many? Like if the number is 2 or 3 it will mitigate the grief?

165? I wonder how many strokes that is?!?

Very perceptive. What I usually read about divorce is moronic, so it was sort of nice to come across this, horrible as it is.

I thought the standard female answer is: "oh he is out playing golf. he'll be home for dinner".

165? Somehow, I don't doubt El Tigre had notches on a bedpost somewhere. It's got to be some kind of, "Well, I bagged her, now who's that redhead over there - she's not bad, either" kind of thing. Don't even pretend to understand it.

The sad part of it all is the effect on the kids. They won't be able to get away from it.

I honestly felt sorry for Chelsea Clinton and the humiliation she went through because of Dad. The stories coming out in the tabloids about her being carried out of bars in her days at Oxford I don't doubt are a result.

And the Woods kids can look forward to something equally bad unless Mom has put an end to it in time.

PS To make Alpha happy, yes, John Ensign's and David Vitter's kids are in the same boat.

Did she? Seems to me she did pretty well for herself because of Dad.

You're only half right, Hoosier.

The sentiments ring true - either she means it, or whoever scripted them for her has been through it. I recognize these sentiments - from the beginnings of my young adult romantic life - but I recognize it nevertheless.

It took at least a decade to get over it - not him, that took less than a month (Do you still love your murderer? No.) but the pain and the inability to trust and how that permanently affects your relationships going forward. I don't know if you ever do get over it completely, really.

If the Taliban were more even-handed about their penalties, I might even sympathize with the barbarian route. It really is such an inequitable situation - the soul damage that is done is very real - and the offending party just skips merrily away. There's really nothing to equal it - no amount of money, fake guilt, etc. I kept the offending party around as basically a slave for 3 years and it doesn't ever make it right. Still glad I did it though because society doesn't exact a punishment in this situation, so I had to take it into my own hands. Why he kept trying to win back my favor for that long I will never know.

The people who marry for convenience/money first time out are probably ahead of the game - unless they wait until everyone's hormones and egos have calmed down around 60 or so. It's not just Ann and Meade, I've known several very successful and happy later life marriages.
