Wow! Beautiful fall colors already. Finding eatable morels I understand, but why search out frogs? Frog legs are too French a food for my taste, although my son did order fried Squid as an appetizer at lunch today. Fried chicken is definitely more to my taste.

Is that Taliesin?

Spring Green is one of the most beautiful places in Wisconsin in my humble opinion.

Did you go to The Bank for dindin? Totally fab.

I would enjoy a country cottage in Spring Green.

I am listening to music by Air at this moment.

Next up is Groove Armada and then United Future Organization-totally fab.

Art Fairs do suck but my mom likes them. I am all about pleasing the folks at this moment.

The General Store there is great too.

Very Vermont.

Great breaky menu.

Did you see the story about the naked protester who hurled a book at President Obama at his Philadelphia rally today, narrowly missing him? I got the link at Instapundit, but the story only seems to have been reported at the U.K.'s Daily Mail. There seems to be a total blackout on the story in the U.S. media, at least from what I could find on Google News. Lots of stories advancing the Obama narrative, nothing about this:

Obama has the book thrown at him: Moment a missile narrowly misses the U.S. President's head during campaign rally

The story notes that it is unknown what book the protester threw at the President's head, why he did it or why he was unclothed. Looking at the picture, though, it's clear that the book is neither Ayn Rand's Atlas Shrugged or F.A. Hayek's The Road to Serfdom, both books that many people probably wish that they could air-mail to Obama. This particular missive missile was not massive enough to be either of those. It looks like it has an umbrella on the front cover. He probably should have thrown this book.

The obviously disturbed fellow who threw the book had something scrawled on his chest, but the angle of the pictures in the story doesn't allow it to be read. The expression on the black lady's face is priceless.

And as Instapundit noted, it took a lot longer for it to get to the point that people were throwing things at Bush. And the American media sure as hell reported it a lot more!

It should be noted that Drudge has the naked protester's picture on the site, but the link doesn't go to any story about it.

I've driven across the Wisconsin River, but never stopped. Maybe next time I'll have to leave time for an excursion.

Hey! When the image is enlarged a Frank Lloyd Wright house appears nestled in among the trees. There cannot be a house like that unless Wright did it.

Trad guy, as best I can tell, it's the visitor's center for Taliesin.

The building isn't Taliesin, but it's near Taliesin. It used to be a restaurant but is now a visitor's center. It was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright.

Glorious photos. One can almost see Lewis & Clark or Robert Rogers paddling their way West to the Pacific.

Thank you for sharing those splendid views of a part of the country we barely consider when we think of scenery.

Kodachrome reds are a great autumn technological loss, since the film's demise.

The WI river flooded my SIL's house recently. The small Zumbro river in MN flooded as well, and wiped out the tiny town of Zumbro Falls.

Saturday it hit 90 here in SE MN. What a weird October.

My backyard oak hit its peak fall blaze, backlit by the sun; it always makes me gasp.

Good Morning all!

It's Columbus Day! If you have an American flag, unfurl it and hang it high.

Beautiful fall day here in New York currently 60 degrees and sunny but very few trees changing yet.

Gorgeous color. I've been to Spring Green once. I think that FLW building is where you end up if you want to buy a ticket to see a tour of Taliesin.

Oh my, there was a naked guy with things written on his body at Obama's PA rally. He must have been following Althouse (didn't she say a week or so ago, they can take your signs but not your panties?). There was a book thrown at him (Obama) too.

Those pictures are breathtaking.
In the North Georgia mountains, it was about 85 degrees, and the trees are still mostly green. The Georgia Apple Festival was the big event. You can find apples in just about any format you choose. We bought Arkansas Black apples which I had never tried.

I think I just saw a walleye break out there. Ann, you're making me homesick. Love it!
