The Capitol at midday, seen from the ice on Lake Mendota.

Meade took this shot:

Enlarge to appreciate the way the sun glints on the tips of the frozen waves.

OMG Meade took a "shot" at the Wisconsin Capitol building. Alphaliberal apoplectic in 3, 2, 1.... Oh wait, he already went overboard in the previous thread.

And let's keep "shot" from becoming a theme...

"Frozen wave" is a nice metaphor complimentarity

Nice view at 100 mph.

PS HD, you're a tad late

I like it. Though it might have been even better taken later in the day so that the low sun angle could reveal more of the wavy texture of the ice.

Complementarity, eh?

Nothing like spending an evening with a physicist.

Except for spending an evening with a philosopher.

To make it a really special evening, we can invite poets as our scribes.

Thanks for the "compliment" Penny. Are you ice fishing for one yourself? :)

I think you might appreciate this: link

wv = "waterses" archaic genitive plural declension of water.

Shamefully admitting to being one post behind on Althouse.

"Parenting" feels important to me right now.

Nice, chickelit.

But when you dream?

Would you be more "useful" to a physicist, a philosopher or a poet?

Not sure what you're asking but if the question is "What's My Line," drop me a line. Discretion guaranteed.
