The protest crowd is pretty thin today, outdoors in the cold rain.

Around the Capitol Square at about 2 this afternoon. I narrate, reading signs and so forth, from the comfort of the backseat of our car:

The video ends with a decision to run inside to see what was happening, and that's blogged here.

I'm not sure why you are thanking the people for coming out in the rain.

Althouse likes to promote speech. That's why she blogs, or so it seems to me.

"Public schools work for Wisconsin ..." Yeah?! Milwaukee's public schools I hear posted proficiency scores of 48% in English, 21% in math. I can't find a graduation rate figure anywhere. Maybe it's too abysmal to publish.

@republican I'm not sure either. Just a social thing. They stop to talk so I say thank you and it seemed right to take note of their being in the rain. Also they assume I support them and I have no reason or ability to get into a debate.

Little do they know that Althouse is their DOOM!

Maybe most protestors are like Chick-fil-A and take Sundays off.

I'm surprised they're not demanding state-provided umbrellas.

Funny how they expect everybody but themselves to be inconvenienced.

They say it's better back there.

You could always claim to be an anthropologist, studying the behavior of fools who don't have the sense to come in out of the rain.

Why would they protest on their day off -- they save their obnoxious behavior for when they are supposed to be at work .....

Exactly, Mary.
