The NYT has an article about 7 professor blogs, including mine.

Check it out.

The photograph they are using is a cropped version of the one they used in that article from 2 years ago called "Commoner Captures Princess, Blog Version." [I mean... it's another photo from that photo-shoot.]

"Bent: “I consider myself fairly moderate — I even voted for Obama, though I’m perceived by people on the left as very right wing."

Because voting for Obama was a meme embraced by moderates who needed to prove they really didn't like GWB.

Different photos, same photo shoot?

Tres cool. You're in good company. Or maybe I should say they are.

@Irene... oh yeah... you're right.

Why are the bloggers that I like smiling while the others look like someone who just swallowed a worm?

...and wanted to expiate the white race's racist sins (sins not necessarily theirs personally,
however) by showing how "open-minded"
they (and the "right kind" of white Americans) were..

I read the top row regularly. Don't know that I've ever read any of the bottom row, unless I followed a link to their site.

What is it about Instapundit that works so well? No comments, yet his traffic is incredible. And when does the guy ever sleep?

Hey how come they didn't mention the Crack Emcee?

What a gyp.

You look great -- and Juan Cole looks like a mad scientist.

The first page has the ones most seem to notice.

“But I would never make fun of a student or tear one down.”

That says something good about you. I've known profs that haven't got such scruples.

Or Trooper York.

PS Fetching likeness, Madame.

I actually took the time to re-read the romance story. Well done Meadehouse.

Trooper, NYTimes is for white boys with a token feminist. I think Crack may not qualify.

I haven't tried "to expiate the white race's racist sins (sins not necessarily theirs personally,

White Obama voters are like those pussies apologizing for the sins of other men.

I'm all "Take your bogus energy and get out of here."

That'll never make the cut.

Fuck - I just went to the article and, DAMN, that's a scary photo grouping!

It's like the worst next-table at Denny's.

The lead paragraph in her obituary will probably be about her romance and marriage with Meade. And that's as it should be. There's a kind of Jane Austen/Elizabeth Barrett explains-it-all quality to her postings. It is a truth universally acknowledged that a witty and attractive woman is in need of a suitable mate. The plot points of her blog as it continues to unfold as are as agreeable as an Austen novel.

While an undergrad at Michigan, I took a class with Prof Juan Cole. He definitely was left-of-center, and thought that the USA was not a good player, but he was a fair teacher, who let the few conservatives/libertarians in his class speak their mind. Even got an A in that class!!!!

So how does one get around the 20 article limit? Is there a virus-proof way? I read something about dragging a link into bookmarks, but I'm wary.

deliberately humorous online

?!? ok, you married one of your lemmings which had to be somewhat amusing to your flock.

It seems silly but it’s almost like they think they’re reading a secret diary of mine and they’re not supposed to talk about it.

Silly indeed as they probably keep quiet 'cause they're embarrassed for you ...

I would like it if they did.

Yes, it's always about you, eh.
