"I fought this road tooth and nail so that you’d be forced to ride the bus."

A proposal for billboards along U.S. 12, attacking Governor Walker's likely adversary in the likely recall election here in Wisconsin.

Proposed Walker campaign slogan:

Walk the Walk and Balk the Falk.

I have mixed feelings about the new Hwy 12. Well, not new anymore.

On one hand, the road did make travel to my in-laws a much faster event. But I never found the old highway to be unsafe. Sure, it was a narrow road (and looking at the parts that still exist now, you marvel at how narrow it was to drive on). Still, its route largely parallels I-94. Why the duplication? I have always thought a better solution would have been better intersection control and a due-north route from Middleton to I-94.

Making highways 100% safe is the same kind of nannyism that leads to back-up cameras on cars.

Easy answer: Old highway 12 existed long before I-94 was even conceived. To have widened old 12 through the Baraboo hills and through all those town wasn't feasible. Look around America—many old roadways still exist and parallel their precursors.

When I was kid I loved looking down the hill off the side of the road down into that valley with the abandoned log building and windwill. I can still picture it.

That's the bad part of having a political record:

You have to run on it.

I doubt seriously Walker wants to run on who had a better record as County Exec, him, or Falk.

So, how motivated do you think the opposition will be?

After Walker wins, will the "next argument" be that he has to run, again, in two years? Oh, and say he wins that, too. Will the nut jobs read the Constitution as saying "he can only run twice?"

One thing for sure. Walker's name is a household name by now. Recognized easily by people who don't live in Wisconsin.

Brilliant, my dear Garage. I doubt he does, too, but for a different reason. He's got a little incumbency called the governorship that he can run on instead.

Awesome record that, too.

I was trolling Madison Man yesterday with that poll showing Doug LaFollette only one point behind Walker. He didn't bite though.

Of course he doesn't want to redo what he already just finished successfully doing just over a year ago.. he thought he didn't have to do it again for four years.

You got to be crazy to want to ;)

He's a LINOtype operator.

Yet, some of our liberal friends want strong unions more than actually, you know, real jobs.

What is the Democrat plan for achieving both? I'd love to know but won't hold my breath waiting for a plausible answer.

Cty Q, to 113, to Cyt V. Done it hundreds of times.

Take Althouse to Malt House , turn left on LaFollette, Right on McCarthy, and twice around the Walker roundabouts.

Good enough. Rasmussen poll from today:

"54% in Wisconsin Oppose Recall of GOP Governor Walker"

" 52% of Likely Wisconsin Voters at least somewhat approve of Walker’s job..."

And this is before they meet Falk and find out what a nasty piece of work and a lefty idiot she is.

Thought this was very funny.

Our dumb senator:

Johnson asked Defense Secretary Leon Panetta, why the President has no proposed plan to save Social Security, a program facing ballooning costs in coming years.

“If I was an OMD Director I could engage with you on that. I’m the defense secretary and that’s what I focus on,” said Panetta.

Falk up one point over Walker in yesterdays PPP poll. And down 4 to Barrett. And tied with other virtual unknowns. 12 million bucks down the toilet. Keep it up!

Walker down 4 to Barrett of course.
