Bobby Jindal and Nikki Haley both travel to Wisconsin to campaign for Scott Walker in his recall election,

The headline in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reads "Walker, Barrett pick up national endorsements." But who's traveling to Wisconsin for Barrett? Anybody big?

The news on Barrett is that the National Association of Police Organizations just endorsed him. But the Milwaukee Police Association just endorsed Walker. Barrett is the mayor of Milwaukee. And there's some nasty news this week about Milwaukee police crime data: "500 serious assaults...  were misclassified by the department as lesser offenses":
The Journal Sentinel found enough misreported assault cases in 2011 alone that violent crime would have increased 1.1% instead of falling 2.3% from the reported 2010 figures, which had their own errors.

Alice Cooper. I believe he's been to Milwaukee before, be he certainly wasn't the first visitor to The Good Land.

If you get a chance, go see Bobby.

I have not seen much of Nikki, but she seems solid.

Bobby is a star though.

PS - I am from Baton Rouge and he makes me proud of my home.

Alice Cooper... you mean the famously Republican rock star who once called Sarah Palin "a breath of fresh air"?

His concert in Milwaukee is a month after the recall. Don't know if Scotty has tickets.

I think Cooper’s actually pretty a-political or describes himself as a “moderate” who goes back and forth between the two major parties.

That's two of Romney's VP favorites. I wonder if they are auditioning for the job in the swingingist swing state of them all.

Check and see if there are Bain Capital stickers on their luggage next to the Koch Industries stickers.

Where's Barack? He needs to campaign here, himself. Two birds with one tax-payer-funded 747 stone.

All of the sour grapes bitching I saw on liberal/progressive forums were complaining that WI represents ground zero for their fight and a lot of them were bemoaning the fact that the DNC, which includes the Obama administration, I would assume, has turned its back on the recall.

The Party of Whine better hope Zero doesn't show.

He's got the endorsement record the Lefties want to believe Sarah Palin has.

Barrett is sure to get an endorsement from St. Jude Thaddeus.

If the jury returns a "not guilty" verdict soon, Johnny Boy Edwards can start his rehabilitation tour in Wisconsin.

Also, I hear Anthony Weiner has some free time. I'm sure he would pull in the votes for Barrett if he campaigned across Western Wisconsin.

Has former Gov. Blagojevich started his prison term yet. Because he's from nearby Illinois, his campaigning for Barrett would be particularly effective.

Two real Indian governors! And they are Republicans- talk about turning the tables on the diversity lovers.

I don’t really see much upside to Obama in the recall. If he tries to help Barrett and Barrett loses, it will be seen as a huge blow to Obama. If he does help Barrett to win, it would require him to put resources in a State that he already won quite handily in 2008 thereby freeing up Romney to compete in more contested States. If he doesn’t try to help Barrett and Barrett loses, it’s going to fray the unity that Obama will need in Wisconsin this fall. As would Barrett winning without Obama’s support.

Prediction: sometime within the next year, we’ll find out that Mitt Romney is the mastermind behind the Scott Walker recall campaign.

Former New Jersey Governor John Corzine? He would bring in the crowds with a stirring speech about protecting the Wisconsin budget and financial propriety in general.

This is so over. Anyone who thinks Barrett can win is seriously delusional.

I'm not sure if that would make me happy or frightened.

Now why did it cross my mind that "pull" and "Weiner" should not be in the same sentence. No need to answer, wife already told me that answer.

Hope they don't expect any good Indian food. There are Indian restaurants, but they're not very good.

Madison just got its first real Chinese restaurant. Ichiban.

How about this up-and-coming New Jersey Democrat?

You sure it's Chinese? Just saying, because the word "Ichiban" is a Japanese noun that means "number one" or the "best".

heyboom, I know the name is Nippon and a review I read noted that also. However, it is an authentic Sichuan eatery. Most dishes are way too hot for Cheeseheads, who think a poblano pepper is inedible.

Debbie Blabbermouth Schultz is allegedly traveling to Wisconsin to campaign for Tom Barrett. Whoop de doo.

Griff Jenkins intereviewed Barrett in Milwaukee Wednesday, catching him walking out of a building in downtown Milwaukee with Russ Feingold. The interview ran on Greta's show Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Feingold has allegedly endorsed Barrett, but his photo does not appear anywhere with Barrett, and his voice hasn't been on any Barrett radio commercials.

When the camera began rolling for the interview, the first thing viewers saw was a tanned Russ Feingold quickly backing out of the frame.

Barrett is so toxic that no big-name Dem will appear with him.

No doubt good liberals will be making racist Indian jokes.

There has been some criticism of her for backsliding on some issues. Jindal is rock solid and would be a good VP pick for Romney.

Energy policy could be his beat while Romney does capitalism.

Lyle said...

Michael K,

Jindal's real beat is health care, but yes he will know a lot about energy as well.

Except that it is Japanese (actually Korean).

"Jindal's real beat is health care, but yes he will know a lot about energy as well."

Health care is too complicated to explain in campaign mode. All anyone has to say is "I'm against Obamacare."

During the debate after Obama took office, I tried to debate lefties on a lefty web site (Washington Monthly). That turned out like all my other discussions with lefties. They just want to shout you down and delete your comments. I have an extensive study of the French system, which would have been a real option for reform, on my blog. They all got infuriated because it wasn't straight NHS-type single payer.

Most of today's medical student are single payer advocates. They have no idea of the details but it will take some skillful maneuvering for the GOP to avoid another bad idea.

Alex said...

What Jindal needs to do is go on a national townhall circuit with those Ross Perot style charts explaining health care reform. ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ

Let's talk about udders instead, that's about the right level of discourse for the average American Joe/Sally.

David said...

Haley will probably play nice while in Wisconsin, but if the lefties get a strong dose of her their heads are going to explode.

New commercial from Walker's campaign. "Cooking the Books"

Expect this to be a topic in tonight's debate.

Ooops. Here's the link.

D'oh! Given the state motto, that's a decent slam. Has there been any movement on that crime stat story since it broke?

Producers of The Wire are evaluating it.

Judging from raw Walker he is not confrontational but neither is he someone who can be cowed (is cows today's theme?). This was the mistake of the union thugs: they thought his response to Walker = Hitler would be "No I'm not and here's my capitulation to your demands to prove I'm not" and what they got was "Stuff it."

Chinese, Japanese, whatever. What we really to know is whether this place is a dictatorship, like Noodles?

I live in Louisiana and want to warn you that Jindal is not a conservative. He is most definitely a RINO. He loves taxes. He is one of the few individuals that is directly responsible for the Medicare mess we currently have, he was a staffer that came up with the coding system.

I would be best to avoid this guy on a national level.
