Lots of HBO coming to Amazon Prime video streaming.

Unlimited access all of "The Sopranos," "The Wire," "Deadwood," "Rome," "Six Feet Under,""Eastbound & Down," "Enlightened,"and "Flight of the Conchords," lots of comedy specials and miniseries (e.g., "Band of Brothers" and "John Adams") and much more.

If you don't already have Amazon Prime let me recommend using this Amazon Prime link. Like other Amazon links I put up, it let's you make a contribution to this blog without paying more for something you want to buy anyway. I'm genuinely encouraged by the appreciation for this blog readers have shown by using these links. Thanks to everyone.

I have Amazon Prime. I also have a Roku and stream Amazon content.

That HBO stuff is crap. I have no intention of streaming any of it. It sucked when HBO produced it, it sucked when HBO charged for it and it still sucks.

When the content sucks, what's the upside of the technology? Nothing.

Wow, Paul. Tell us how you really feel.

Despite Paul's buzzkiller comment, I have to say I thoroughly enjoyed a lot of those shows. Glad Amazon Prime is picking them up in their entirety.

Amazon just keeps making their service better for Prime members. Makes me glad I'm a charter member (The service started in 2005, but seems like it's been around longer than that to me). It was worth it for me when the only benefit was the free 2-day shipping, and they just keep piling on the benefits.

Deadwood and The Wire were both great. Curb Your Enthusiasm is also great. I imagine the Sopranos hasn't aged well though. It started sucking mid-run.

Love my Sopranos, always wanted to see Deadwood...Exciting! Yes I have prime and I got rid of the cable and stream only. Excellent!!

I have the box set on Sopranos, but if all I have to do is click on prime and choose an episode, I love that. I have a lot of movies in my library that are gathering dust as I can stream so much on Netflix, Amazon and other channels.

I have had A` for quite a while. While I tend to shop only once a month, shortly after my check is deposited, it does indeed come in handy. Just last night I bought several items, totaling over the amount qualifying for dropping shipping charges even without Prime. But then I realized I had forgotten one item. With Prime, I was able to order the $8 item without the $6 shipping charge.

Doesn't happen often, but often enough to recover the cost of Prime. And make for easier budgeting. And not get the "What a rip-off!" feeling.

How about HBO's prestigious "late night" specials such as Cathouse, Real Sex, Pornucopia and Katie Morgan?

Apparently, too tawdry for Amazon.

Deadwood is one of my all time favorite shows. The writing is outstanding.

Curb Your Enthusiasm had some great seasons. A couple seasons sucked, but I will never forget the car wash scene, and its aftermath ("You car wash c___!"). I laughed so hard I cried.

Never saw the Wire, and now here's my chance! That will be summer viewing.

I liked "Band of Brothers" and John Adams quite a bit.

Wow.

Band of Brother and John Adams were great, but I own those on blu-ray.

The other shows... great but not exactly family entertainment.

Still, the lack of HBO shows was a glaring gap for Amazon, and to have them on Prime is huge.

I was wondering why Amazon was featuring Game of Thrones in their Fire TV ads, now I know.

I don't understand. You're saying if I have Amazon Prime, which I do from Amazon Student I think, I get to see free HBO?

Curb Your Enthusiasm is not on the list. Save us Jeff Bezos. You're our only hope.

Thought Deadwood and Flight of the Conchords were great. Though I enjoyed it at the time, Six Feet Under has not aged well. As with so much edgy film and literature, a little time allows you to realize that they were trying way too hard.

The first season of Rome was the best of a great bunch of shows. Created by John Milius, famed right-wing model for Walter in Big Lebowski) Hollywood writer/director/producer.

I couldn't get past the fucking language on fucking Deadwood. I'm not a fucking prude; it's just that when fucking every other fucking word has to be fucking "fuck," it takes too fucking long to fucking say fucking anything, and it gets fucking boring. It's fucking like every fucking character has a fucking speech impediment.

Looking forward to seeing The Wire.

Now if only Amazon would create a Prime Video viewer for Android...
